Illuminated mirrors for every room
Bathroom. Winter mornings, 7 am, still dark outside. A bathroom mirror with lights makes shaving, skincare and makeup quicker and more precise, without flooding the room with harsh overhead light. Just check the IP rating before installing it near the shower or sink.
Bedroom. Hang a light up mirror over a dresser and you’ve got a vanity corner, no extra lamp needed. At night, dim it down and it doubles as soft ambient light for reading or winding down.
Hallway and entryway. Narrow, with little natural light: the classic hallway. An LED wall mirror fixes both problems at once, making the space look wider and brighter. Plus, one last outfit check before you leave and a warm welcome when you get home.
Living room. A backlit mirror above a console table or sideboard works as mood lighting. Switch off the big lights, keep the glow, start the movie.
Shapes and styles
Round mirrors with lights soften rooms full of straight lines and look great above a console or a small sink.
Rectangular LED mirrors are the classic pick: they work above wide sinks, dressers and sideboards.
Arched and irregular mirrors are for those who want the wall to be the main character.
Full length mirrors with lights give you a head to toe check with no shadows at your feet.
How to choose your mirror with lights
Size: for a balanced look, go slightly narrower than the furniture below it. On an empty wall, aim for about two thirds of the wall’s width.
Light position: backlit mirrors glow from behind and draw a soft halo on the wall, perfect for ambient light. Front lit mirrors shine through the glass, better for detailed tasks.
Colour temperature: warm light (2700 to 3000K) feels cosy; neutral light (around 4000K) shows true colours for makeup.
Brightness and dimming: a dimmable LED mirror goes from full power for precision tasks to a gentle glow in the evening.
Controls: touch sensors on the glass are quick and clean; a wall switch is handy if you want the mirror to turn on with the room light.
Power: check where your nearest socket is. Plug in models are easy to install anywhere, while hardwired ones keep the wall free of cables.
Where to hang your illuminated mirror
As a rule of thumb, the centre of the mirror should sit at eye level, about 150 to 160 cm from the floor. Above a piece of furniture, leave a gap of 15 to 25 cm so they look connected without feeling cramped. Facing a window? Even better: your mirror will bounce daylight around the room during the day and take over when the sun goes down.
